Pittsburgh Symphony Concertmaster David McCaroll joins Maestro Daniel Meyer and your Erie Phil for Beethoven’s Violin Concerto, a favorite for the form beloved by violinists and audiences alike. After intermission, experience the warmth of Rachmaninoff’s incredible lyricism and orchestration through one of his greatest masterworks, a sensation that has endured for over 100 years. The program opens with Brahms’ setting of Friedrich Schiller’s poem Nänie, a bracing song of lament featuring a powerful performance by your Erie Philharmonic Chorus.
