2004 Eiji Oue Concerto Competition Winner

Robert is a junior at Seneca High School and has been playing the clarinet since fifth grade. Beginning with high school band, Robert has gradually increased his involvement in musical activities, playing in a clarinet choir, the pit orchestra for school musicals, and the GEYSO Wind Ensemble, as well as singing in his school's choir.
Eventually, Robert worked his way up to the principle clarinet position in the Erie Junior Philharmonic. He also plays in the Jr. Phil's Wind Ensemble. His private instructor is Dr. Steve Lyons of Mercyhurst College. Robert has participated in several honors band festivals over the years and this past year progressed through PMEA District and Regional Bands all the way to All State Band.
Robert is a leader in his school, serving as junior class president and involving himself in student council and National Honor Society. He plans to become a music educator and performer as a career. He feels extremely honored to have been chosen as the winner of this year's Eiji Oue Competition.
