The Erie Philharmonic Chorus is a professional-level, volunteer choral organization providing excellent choral-orchestral performances to entertain, educate, and enrich the cultural life of our community and region.

The Erie Philharmonic Chorus holds auditions two times a season – the week of August 22nd and the week of January 3rd. With the start of a new artistic year, the Erie Philharmonic Chorus will be accepting new tenors and basses. All soprano and altos wishing to join the Erie Philharmonic Chorus are encouraged to contact us to be put on a waiting list for the next round of auditions.

To join the Erie Philharmonic Chorus all potential singers must go through an audition process, as follows:

Sing a portion of any song (your choice) unaccompanied

Vocalizing – Check range and pitch matching

Sightreading – Sightreading an accompanied chorus work
An accompanist will play all choral parts while the auditionee sings their choral part

**The purpose of sightreading portion of the audition is to evaluate the level of musical experience. It does not determine your acceptance into the Chorus.

The 2011-2012 season will bring some very exciting performances for the Erie Philharmonic Chorus, including:

- Heritagefest at the Burger King Amphitheatre on Saturday, September 10, 2011
- Don’t Stop Believin’ Pops Concert – an 80′s Tribute on Saturday, October 22, 2011
